  31. I called one of the Tech support people about my CD Rom....
  32.    I wanted my Mitsumi to play thru the GUS. I've connected that Y connector
  33. Thing to the back of the Mitsumi to the back of the Gus.  The Tech guy said
  34. to add one thing like a /l or something to the ultrainit in my config. or
  35. something.. Well my point is I forgot what he said so I'd appreciate it if 
  36. someone could mail me and tell me what to do.

  73. My main question is... how do it use these AIL drivers with sc2000.
  74. I remember you have to copy a file to a file , run ultramid, ebla,blaa.
  75. Could someone explain exactly the procedure? Please??

  77. Also, When I installed the new 3.1 software, and ran windows,
  78. It never created a new GroupIcon, so I have NO idea what new
  79. window routines are there. Could someone please list them and
  80. their respective file names, so I can add them to the group.
  81. (like patchmaker lite? WinMOd? is there more.??)

  83. And a little comment, I also lost keyboard control when I 
  84. unloaded the new SBOS (using -f) from memory!!1

  96. I also have a problem with the new software (GUS0038.ZIP), but of a
  97. more mundane way - I can't find it! Where have y'all put it?
  98. Searched epas - nope. Searched (or _tried_ as it wouldn't accept
  99. anonymous logins) theoris.rz.uni-konstanz.de, did the only
  100. think I thought possible ("They shipped it off to Taiwan!")
  101. and searched nctuccca.edu.tw, but nooooooooo. Well, as this is
  102. Sweden, and Finland is kinda close, I also tried garbo, but
  103. nothing there either.

  118. After reading the last digest I received, (V5 #2), I saw all the reveiws of this
  119. patch/upgrade.  But when I got to epas (and other mirrors) I couldn't find it.
  120. What happend to it?

  122. Also, what is with this upgrade gus0037.zip-- why is this one going to 
  123. cost us $$.  After quickly reading the reveiw it looked like it contained the 
  124. same things that gus0038.zip does !?!??

  199. Setgus only passes parameters back to Setup, and it is Setup which modifies
  200. your system files.  If you run setgus from within setup, and allow setup to
  201. modify your system files, then the set ultrasnd, etc. lines in your
  202. autoexec.bat should reflect your new configuration.

  222. SBOS isn't able to detect a working NMI on your motherboard, so it's 
  223. refusing to load.  If it thinks that your NMI is disabled, then it 
  224. probably is, and without the NMI, SBOS cannot work.  It is often not
  225. possible to re-enable an inactive NMI (since, often, it seems that the
  226. designers of the motherboard chose not to implement it).

  232. Mega-Em will emulate a Roland MT-32 or GM synth and an SB DAC on the GUS
  233. without requiring the NMI (but requiring that the program you plan to use
  234. the emulator with runs in real mode), so you aren't entirely tied to SBOS.

  278. I can't seem to get Ultramid 1.07 (the one that came with the v3.1 
  279. disk/gus0038) to load preset patches using the '-c' command. It'll load 
  280. normal and I'll either get a divided error or no music will be played. 
  281. Loading it with patch catching works perfectly normal. Any sugestions?

  296. Maybe I am not particularly smart but I cannot find ON ANY SITE the files
  297. gus0038.zip and gus0037.zip that everybody is going on about.
  298. I only tried for a few hours :-(
  299. Anyone who can give me a pointer? And please, don't say "epas" or something
  300. like that without mentioning a full path.

  336. Others seem to be able to get digital sounds in Indycar just fine.
  337. The proper functioning of the GUS' 32-bit AIL drivers does not 
  338. depend on any special setups (except one that works), and does not
  339. require you to configure soundcard base addresses or IRQs for the
  340. game.

  347. You might need to tell Mega-Em to not emulate an SB if you already have a 
  348. real one co-existing with your GUS.  Also, check to see that the SB
  349. IRQ isn't conflicting with the GUS' IRQs.

  359. Avoid using IRQ 7 and make sure that the game is configured correctly
  360. for the SB base address and IRQ.

  373. MODUS is just as light on the CPU as a DOS GUS MOD player, so CPU speed
  374. isn't your problem (I have a 386-33 and MODUS runs full speed on it).  
  375. You might have another program which is trying to use the WAV/MIDI portion 
  376. of the GUS driver at the same time that MODUS is running.  MODUS requires
  377. sole possession of the GF1, so anything that attempts to play sounds or
  378. music through the GUS at the same time as MODUS will screw up or cause
  379. MODUS to screw up.
